The Exam
The QLTT is nothing like the American Bar. It is a transfer test, which assumes you already have knowledge of the basic core subjects. No need to memorize the rule against perpetuity, no IRAC. It's more like writing a Brief or Supporting Memorandum. When you pass your exams, you will be eligible to sign on to the Rolls of Solicitors and will also receive a Certificate of Completion issued by OXILP and the Trustees of the University of Oxford.

Preparing
Two weeks prior to the exam, you will receive the Broad Guidelines, a two-page summary of the specific topics on which you will be tested. The Guidelines are provided by the OXILP training faculty who have written the actual test questions you will be taking. The Broad Guidlines will direct you to the areas of study on which to focus your final review.
Prior to taking the QLTT, you must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility issued directly from the Law Society. Application materials will be included in your QLTT course kit. (Please note: the Certificate of Eligibility is valid for three years and is not tied to a specific test date.)
